Sounds like either a fuse, circuit breaker, or failure on the panel itself. Do you have a picture of the type of panel it is? I presume other circuits are still working fine?

You should be able to trace the circuit wiring behind the panel with a simple voltmeter to identify when the power stops.

There are breakers near (under) the panel. The cockpit light and panel light are on the lighter receptacle circuit. Just reset the breaker. If it happens again look for fault.

Thanks for your quick response. I continued to trace the issue and found the problem, I found the circut breakers and figured out the 12 braker...all good.

Paul. You have just discovered the joy of a “New to You” boat. Tracing and searching out all of the systems and equipment hidden on the boat.
Sometimes it is a bit like the game “where’s Waldo”
Enjoy your new boat.

You are 100% correct and I accept the challange. Took her on an 11 day trip with little or not problems. Found a couple of leaks but nothing crazy...Enjoy the summer!!! Thanks.

A safety note ... I believe the recent European boats combine the AC shore power lines in the same box as the DC circuits. Before you open things up and start probing around back there with your fingers and multimeter, turn off the AC at the dock stanchion, unplug your shore power cable, and disconnect any inverters that may be wired in. Your first multimeter probe should be on AC voltage to check that everything is cold. 120v / 30 A AC will end your worries about your electrical faults in a big (sparky) hurry!

Glad that you worked out your particular problem, by the way.

Thanks, I appreciate your advice.....I was told that my boat, 2007 B40, was the first US produced model in Marion GA. Better safe than sorry....
Cheers....

Both 120V AC and 12V DC are accessible behind the panel on the Marion boats as well. So the previous advice applies as well to the US produced boats (mine is a 2009 B31).

I'm pretty sure "the man" requires AC panels to have a rear cover over the breakers and connections.

Key word here is »pretty » sure... there is a thin piece to laterally separate the two but no cover. All accessible. I’ve seen a cover on a more recent boat; 2010 or 2011.

Really mines a 1994 351 and has a factory cover over the 120 breakers in the same cabinet bass panel ,which supplied Beneteau for years
