I'm starting my 3rd spring restoring my 1974 Mac 25 and thank all of you for all the wonderful advice the first two years. I never could have learned this much by myself. The interior is finished and now the scary part for me...painting. I've searched the archives and there is lots of advice. The easiest is have a pro do it but I've gone this far and want to finish. Big question...spray, brush, or roll? I have a Wagner power sprayer. Will it work with boat paints and has anyone tried this? Any advice will help this beginner including your favorite paint(top side and bottom)...Thank you.

Are SURE you want to paint?

Why not polish the existing gelcoat? There are at least five areas that are very different and require different paint and applications. 1. Deck 2. Non-Skid areas on the deck 3. Hull, ABOVE the waterline 4. Hull, BELOW the waterline 5. Your 700lb cast iron swing keel Now ask sailors out there what paint and application they used for each one and why. Plus there are questions about YOU. Are you a trailer sailor or are you in a wet slip?
