Painting under a 260

I know that there has been several posts on this subject but I was hoping someone may have some advice on getting her off the trailor and onto some jacks. For I figure you can not let her rest on the keel? so what is the answer. Sling her I guess. Anyone got some photos of their 260 in a sling or on jacks? I do not want to use antifoul but instead am going to try putting a coat of "lanolin". Apparently it adheres well to the GRP without the need to sand. Apparently to remove the lanolin you need a thinners or something like that so I guess it sticks pretty well! The forward sling location is well forward of the trailor beds but the rear sling point is right where the beds are. I figured I might have to place a sling under her while she is in the water, hold it in place somehow and put her back on the trailor. Any help and guidance would really be appreciated!

I’m going through the same thoughts myself.

Want to get my H26 off the trailer here at home (a whole story in itself). I wondered if two boat stands could be set just aft the bunks of the trailer (that would put them on the hull bottom near the transom – where I THINK it would be fairly strong.) Use the stands to raise the aft end of the boat. Then there is the front – and how to raise the bow of the boat up to get the trailer out from underneath. As for myself – I’m thinking parking the boat between two large trees with the beam attached between them and a chain hoist hung from the beam. The hoist is attached to a sling. Once the bow is raised and the trailer pulled out, other boat stands are placed in the front section near the area marked for the sling. Sound stupid? Probably. But I want the boat at home to work on the hull (another upcoming post). There have been discussions in the past about jacking and blocking the boat up off the trailer (removing the bunks etc), but that idea was generally shot down as being unsafe to work under. I THINK, if I can get the boat on standard boat stands, that it would be safe to be under. The question is, can a H26 hull stand up to it’s own weight on stands!!!

Yes I agree Tom

This company has been going for a wghile in Australia. They supplied the product to a guy in New Zealand and he used it on the prop and prop shaft. After several years the result was no build up!
