Painting over nonskid paint

I recently painted by the deck and cabin sides of my just aquired '75 Catalina 27 with Interlux Interdeck nonskid paint. I decided to use just the nonskid on the deck and the cabin sides to cut down all the masking. It looks pretty good, but the nonskid paint on the cabin sides just looks funny. Am I just being too fussy? I am thinking of painting over the cabin sides with Interlux Brightsides white to make it look more traditional but fear that might look worse. Any experience or ideas? Thanks.

No, you're not being too fussy.

If you were fussy, you would have masked off the non-skid and done it right in the first place. The non-skid agent in the paint is the culprit. No shine where it should be, but at least you won't slide off the side of the house. Get some input from a paint expert at the boat store before you paint the Brightsides over the non-skid. There may, or may-not, be some special prep involved. The good news is that the non-skid areas are already painted so you only have to tape off the deck once. Not too much trouble.
