painting non-skid

Thanks for the reminder, Mort:

The paint shop masked off the non-skid areas, and sprayed a thin coat of
linear polyurethane. They let this cure to tackiness, then spread
interlux non-skid sand on it and let it cure some more. After it pretty
much cured but was still a little tacky, they used compressed air and
blew off the excess and sprayed 2 more coats of the linear
polyurethane. It is a pretty fine grained non-skid, but it does the
job.

In other areas, I am completing a mast step in 1/4" and 3/8" 5000 series
marine aluminum which I will make the templates available to anybody
that wants to see them. I also ordered a rudderhead fitting from
Bristol Bronze in Rhode Island. The owner is a really helpful person to
talk to. If the rudderhead fitting does not fit, I can just send it
back because it is a new standard item he just added to his inventory.

The local canvas person is asking $1800- $2400 for a new and very well
built canvas dodger. Does anybody know of a cheaper alternative?

Thanks
