Painting deck

Added picture to album of cabin top after I finished painting it. After doing all the usual prep, painted 1 coat of Interlux Pre-Kote, then 1 coat of Interlux Brightside (3 part white to 1 part light blue) with Interlux No-Skid added. It looked horrible. Painted 3rd coat of Interlux (3 part white to 1 part light blue) without the no-skid. It looks great. What a job. Now have to finish the side decks.

I used a brush and it wasn't all one color, like I hadn't stirred it good...but I did stir it really good. It almost looked like faux painting. I put the 3rd coat on w/out the no-skid w/a roller, which might have made a difference.

A little "Dab" will do ya.

We have always used a foam roller to apply deck paint with the nonskid addative. We've usually been satisfied with that process. However, while painting the deck of our Celebrity day sailer (with light blue like you had also used) we had roller marks following the first coat. Rolled the second coat with great care and still had roller marks. Then the artistic one in this family suggested that we use a sponge and dab the next coat. That was tough on the forearms, but gave a great finish! Pic added. Phil
