Saw this at the National Yacht Club in Toronto. I am told it is somewhat controversial.

Back in the early 2000's I helped facilitate an art exhibition that used canoes as the main piece. We got 30 canoes donated to the cause and asked artists for proposals. There is/was all kinds of crazy stuff that happens when you give a bunch of artists canoes. Most had no idea how big one is! Or how to move it let alone paddle it!
One had yoga balls added and got painted green and hung on the side of a building. One was used for a daily performance piece. One guy took 2 and painted one white the other red and printed MOTEL on both in the opposite color and hung them from the market down town. One was turned into a water garden... A bunch ended up as canvases and are floating art.
Come to think of it I think I still have one beside my house. Oh yea. Still there. It's getting a lot less use now that the sailboat is in the picture.

The boat was owned by, I believe, a sail training for youth organization. They spent several weeks painting it a few summers ago. not necessarily the paint job I would choose for my boat but well done

BTW I saw Traveler up against the wall at the club- didn't know it was you. Hope you had a good stay.

Found this on a French website, of course. Gives new meaning to DIY.
