A couple of months ago I read a piece of research that someone had done on paint removers used to take their bottom coat off. I remember that the one that proved out the best was the enviro friendly type. Can someone provide me with a link to the research data. It was really helpful. My search of the archives did not show it. Thanks Ken

Looks like you should...

look into the back issues of "Practical Sailor". I wouldn't go the "more green" route. It is a nasty job... get the product that gets the job done... WITHOUT eating thru the gel-coat. Must be specific for fibergalss!

Be careful if you use the potent stuff

When I striped my mast last year I used some great stuff that I got in my local hardware store. I used it on aluminum and it was recommended for all kinds of paint including urethanes and epoxies, but it had a specific caution to not use it on plastics or fiberglass. So be careful.
