I need to replace the name of my boat. First I have to remove the old name (had been painted). Can somebody suggest me a good product that will do the job without damaging the gelcoat. Thank you for your help.
Try Easy-Off oven cleaner. Spray on, let stand, scrub with 3M plastic scratchy pad (wear rubber gloves), flush with water, repeat. Use compound to remove the shadow that remains.
Use Interlux 299E followed by either Interlux 399 or Interlux Solvent Wash 202. Make sure to follow the proper denaming and renaming ceremony if you are changing the name. Otherwise, your luck and fortunes on the seas may change.
