I have a 1074 22' O Day that I recently acquired. It has two coats of old paint on it that I want to remove and If the original gel coat is OK I will be happy with that otherwise I will repaint.I do not want to sand it down as I will lose the nonskid pattern on the decks The bottom coat of paint appears to be a good quality marine paint while the top coat appears to be a poorly brushed on paint of unknown type.Does anyone know of a paint stripper I can use that will not destroy the gel coat. All the commercial products that I have found warn not to use on fiberglass as it will soften and destroy the gel coat.

You could sand it down, losing your non-skid, but you can replace your non-skid with KiwiGrip. I've read a couple of glowing reviews of KiwiGrip. Seems to be a very good product with excellent support by the company.

Not that this really answers your questions, but...
