Paint PVC?

We've made some awning support poles from 1 1/4 inch pvc. We thought it might dress them up a bit if they were painted. Does anyone have an Rx about what paint or to paint at all?

I use a Krylon PVC primer on PVC. I have used it on a lot of projects and it works very well.

Make sure to use a scotchbrite pad and remove the printing on the pipe or it will bleed thru some paints, especially the red printing... the paint helps make it last longer under the uv rays also...
