Paint or gel coat?

Folks, on the late 80s and early 90s vintage beneteaus, did they use paint or gel coat on the topsides?

they all have gelcoat, but if you have color it may be paint. In my case I have dark blue gelcoat. Generally if it has a cloudy oxidized look it is gelcoat. Awlgrip or Imron paints don't oxidize...they just peel off.

"Awlgrip or Imron paints don't oxidize...they just peel off"....... only if the "cloudy oxidized look" is not removed properly from the gelcoat before the paint is applied. if the surface is prepped properly, it will adhere to the surface like epoxy....
