I have a 1970 Mariner which has always been in Freshwater. It is in great shape but could use some freshening up. Does it make any sense to paint this fiberglass? If so what is the best material to use? I would be planning to spray more than 1 light coat. If it makes sense I would like to redo the White Deck area as well as the hull. What bottom coating should be used. The boat will now be moored in the Wareham River. Brackish salt water.

Poliglow. Poliglow with a light sanding if needed and then a few coats it shines. I tried it on my hatch cover wile I had it off the boar this winter and it looks great. They say it last 12 months. I can wait for the spring to try the rest of the boat. You can also recoat.

Topsides Paint
I just painted my 22 with Interlux Perfection. It was labor intensive (about 30 hrs total)and a bit expensive ($600 total) but the job was done right and the boat looks better than new. If you have the time and money it is really woth it. The product is great! Look for before and after pictures within two weeks.
