I´m about to paint the deck with international (interlux in the us?) perfection two component
paint. For those who already have:

1. Did you use one or two coats of epoxy primecote?
2. Did you "sand" (steel wool) down the pattern of the non-skid areas completely - or just
cleaned it?
3. When do you apply the non-skid paint( or grit?). After the deck has been treated with
epoxy primecote. And if so, after one or two coats?

Thanks a lot in advance for any helpful comments!

When I last painted a Vega "Debonair" I painted teh coachroof etc but
left teh non-slip totally. When dry I masked off teh newly paintareas
and then painted teh anti-slip with Blakes Deck Paint (Stone) This has
anti-slip and is a good contrast. Use a small 4" gloss roller and make
sure there is no spatter so make sure all areas are covered. Easy to do
and works well and looks beautiful

I avoid steel wool for deck work. The bits come off and make a persistent rusty mess. Maybe a 3M brown pad or similar product (or bronze wool).Nicholas Walsh

I just finished doing my topsides. Gave everything a two part prime
coat. I applied the topcoat except for the non-skid and then mask it
off and used the same paint with a little color for contrast and did
the non-skid with some sand added. I also painted the rubber around
the ports. I used Sterling paint. Don't know if that is available in
the UK. All done with roller and brush.

Steve, How did you handle the ss deck bolts? Did you roll over them or cut around each with a brush? Rex (V 1472)
