Does anyone know where I can buy paint for the lettering and name in small amounts for my hypalon dinghy ? ( its a 1980's Avon ) I would want white and black for sure and red and yellow if its possible. I havent been able to find anything less than a quart and at quite a price..Thanks if anyone has any leads...SMITROE

I suggest vinyl...

That's what I use, some 8-10 year outdoor vinyl. It's what they use for police decals, and basically any other lettering/graphics. The edges are crisp and you can get just about any color under the rainbow. It's easy to apply and once it is there it's staying until you decide to take it off. You can layer colors to get various effects etc. You can get it at most local sign shops or if you are interested I can help you out with it. I make & sell vinyl. I'm not trying to plug my own stuff but there is some good info on my sites about vinyl. I suggest shopping around and see what's out there. www.reflective-studios.com or www.nativstix.com

RESPONSE TO VINYL

Thank You V-24, my dinghy was purchased used this winter from out of state and I need to paint over the old numbers ( which are thin wash of white )and then apply my new numbers. If I were to paint out the white would the winyl letters stick to the hypolan white paint ? and what happens to the vinyl when the boat is deflated ? thanks .. btw YOUR WEBSITE IS MOST IMPRESSIVE....SMITROE

REPLY TO DEFLATED

NOT TO WORRY....for all I know there could have been a way to do it and vinyl letters are handsome..I keep the dinghy at the dinghy dock and use it to get back and forth to my mac 23..If I get underway , I leave it at the mooring or take trail it behind us if were going to anchor over for the night .....in the winter it lives in my heated garage (which is under my house ) and remains inflated....Thanks....SMITROE
