Hi, I have an 8 ft dinghy with a wood floor which was made from a kit that I purchased from someone else. I think the interior boat floor is made of plywood and it often sits at the dock for days filled with rainwater in the summer before I get around to pumping it out. What kind of paint or finish would you recommend I use here? It's painted white now and it held up fairly well over the summer with just a little flaking and I just want to make sure that it doesn't rot. Thanks

The builder hopefully epoxy-coated the plywood before he painted it. If there is a "little flaking" it has probably not been painted with a 2-part polyurethane. Can you ask thee previous owner what he or she used? Otherwise, a good sanding and a coat of a good marine deck paint (Interdeck, etc.) would probably do the job. I've had good luck with Rustoleum enamel on plywood, but my center console does not soak in the bilge for days.
