Powdercoating hatches
I tried to get a local boatyard to give me an estimate on painting the mast boot & was told "Just buy a new one, they're cheap enough". Well, I found the Kenyon website, figured out which boot I had and gave them a call...... $200.00 *yks. I don't know where that employee is from (clearly he isn't a native Mainer) cause I don't call $200.00 cheap.Anyway, I think I am going to try a couple automotive places. Fred, are you saying that you got the hatches powdercoated for the cost of a quart of Awlgrip? The inside of the hatches are just fine, mint condition, it's the outside that needs some help. They are starting to look silver not black. I've been to your site, you put a lot of work into that boat & it looks great

.Ian, We are using Interlux to paint our deck. We chose Hatteras Off White but haven't decided what color non-skid to use yet, probably will use beige. We haven't been able to paint yet as we haven't had an overcast day that it didn't rain. It's starting to look like we are going to have to pitch a tent over the boat to get it painted. I wanted to paint first then install the new portlights so that we didn't have to try and paint around them, but it's looking like that's exactly what I will end up having to do. Thanks for your input
