So I'm really starting to lean towards just doing 1-2 coats of prime kote on the entire hull and then painting the entire hull with Brightside. Maybe do 3-4 coats on the hull and 1-2 on the deck.

Sounds like it's going to be a lot easier since only the prime kote is a 2 part, and the brightside is a one part, it's going to cost me a lot less money and I can get a quart of brightside for the top in white, and (2) quarts of brightside in blue for the bottom.

That's a good plan, Matt. The Brightside or Easypoxy is a good choice. You still might want to consider the Perfection route also.... They make a 1/2 gallon kit http://www.boatersland.com/perfectuonhg.html that would give you 2/3 coats on your boat. It's about double the price of Brightside... maybe an extra $50.

I think the Perfection is a little more work but also a bit more durable.... In any case, both will look great if you prepare the surface correctly..... so follow the examples in the video link I posted... or google for others... If you can get the boat inside the garage, upside down... the work will go quite well. Good luck.......... post a picture or two of the project.

Boat is already upside down, that's how I sanded the bottom. Made my life so much easier.

I'm going to either see if I can use a friends garage, or I might just put a tarp up between the trees whichever I have access to.
