I am planning on repainting my 79 Hunter 27.
Looking on the awlgrip site I found many shades of white. I may not be able to finish the entire topside (hull, deck) at one time and what I was interested in is if anyone knows what shade of white was used on these Hunters so I can get as close as possible to the original.

Well you cannot tell anything about colors from the website. You will need to get the actual color cards I think. To me a new gelcoat is about as white as white can be. When I had my '79 topsides cleaned and buffed professionally it was white-white again. But then they all fade slightly over time regardless of how much TLC. My topsides(hull sides) are still original. I did paint my cabin and decks though. I used Mediterranean White(real white) with Off-white mixed two Med to one Off.

Ed is right - You can not match colors from the website. I would get a color chart with actual paint chips on it, not something printed. Then buff a small area of both the deck and topside, and match your color chips to that, so that you are not matching oxidized gelcoat. That should get you as close to the original color as possible.
I say this because I have observed that newly buffed areas on my boat, an '82 H30, seem to be a slightly warmer shade of white than the heavily oxidized areas.

Follow-up comment: Hmmm...that warmer (slightly pink-ish) shade of white could very well be "Oyster White" as John says.

No, 'Oyster White' looks like milk. It is the color of 'white'-Awlgripped spars and the color of Cherubini 44 decks. Dave also does hulls in Oyster White-- says it holds up better than gelcoat.

I'm using Brightside on mine, but my spar is getting Oyster White.
