Packing Size/1980 33'

Replacing the stuffing box packing on a Hunter 33(1980). Size 1/4 or 3/16 inch? Flax or teflon? Thx

Haven't done it in a while but I believe the size is 3/16. I used flax but teflon may be better. Are you doing the job in the water or out?

Suggest you call Hunter. However, I believe 1" shafts or smaller use 1/4" material. 1 1/4" shafts use 5/16 material.
