Packing for H31

Does anyone know what size packing is required for a 1985 H31 with the metal housing? Would like to purchase without having to go and measure gap.Thanks,Gerry

Sez here....

...on the Specs page of this website that the 31 has a one-inch shaft, so my recollection is that you need 3/4 inch packing.

Bill:I think that is 3/16" not 3/4".

3/16" works with a 1" shaft

I repacked my 1" shaft on my 1980 hunter 33 a few days ago and the 3/16" packing seemed to work well. I have the standard brass stuffing box, and it may not be the orginal, so for what its worth.
