I have a chance to aquire a Paceship 23 that has been sitting on a craddle since 1984, for $0. It has about 1' of water in the cabin, ship appears to be complete. Any ideas on salvagability? How much plywood is sandwiched in the glass, in the cabin floors that may be rotted away? Hull looks good on the cradle except for one pad about 10" by 14", aft that has pressed into the hull about an inch, but no sign of cracking, just a depression.

pump it out -

- and take a look! It would be hard to go wrong for that price if you have the skills to do some repairs and replacement. You may have to replace wood and also metal fasteners, wiring, etc... It could take a while. What about the mast & rigging, sails? Everything inside could be mildued...or maybe not. pump it out and look!

great boats

My first boat was a 14' OAK Island Paceship. Sail that boat all over the bay for years. Finnaly sold it a couple of years ago(it was a YOUNG guys boat)but I can still sail it for the rest of my life, part of the deal.I also sail a 21 or 23' paceship a couple of times. Great boats, very sea worthy, been out in the 14' in small craft warwings all the time. As far as your boat goes, pump it out and check it out, hopfully you have the rigging and sails? Can't beat the price you paid
