Phil, I posted this article on 4/9 and received several responses, however, I would like your opinion. The Adler/Barbour frig on our 1991 Passage 42 seems to work fine but the freezer hardly gets cold. I suspect the system may need to be recharged? It cycles on, the cold plate gets cold, but not enough to freeze. Any ideas? I need to check the system over to make sure it has clear ventilation, etc. Was Hunter still using a freon based system in 91? Thanks. Terry

Exactly the same as Rick, only I also had him check both CruiseAir AC units while he was there to save on a service call for them. One was over charged and one was under charged. Both not good, so I'm glad he checked. Not sure why all 3 of us have problems with the freezer unit but it seems like a trend. Also make sure the AB cooling fans and coils are clean. They get very dirty if you run them all the time like we do. You will have to remove the fan shrouds.

Scott, I have been in touch with the company (Sea Freeze Marine) the previous owner had to repair the heat pump, and at that time they replaced the reverse cycle relay. He told me the unit worked fine in the shop before the previous owner picked it up and reinstalled it. Sea Freeze Marine has it on their schedule to look at it today to determine why the unit is tripping the breaker. I'll let you know the diagnosis. We've been in Euless, Texas visiting my oldest son for the past few weeks. We just got back last week and spent most of it closing the deal on our H28 sale. Thanks. Terry

The Director of Operations at Semi-ah-moo stopped by with his reefer tools and set about checking the freezer system pressure, then he recharged it in hopes that that would cure its ails. Well, that seemed to do the trick, and no leaks were detected. It has been running for two weeks straight and freezes water in about an hour. He said that he would stop by in a month or so to check for any pressure changes. Terry
