Hello all I am in the process of changing all zincs. When looking at the manual, it shows two zincs on the starboard side of the engine above the fuel pump and one on the aft end of the engine to the left of the exhaust elbow. I only found what appeared to be one on the starboard side of the engine (based on the manual diagram). When I removed this, it appeared to be just a plug with exhaust soot on the end and no zinc. What am I missing? I would think there would be one going into the heat exchanger as well. Thanks for the help in advance Greg

Greg When I still had that engine I was told that since it was fresh water cooled it did not need zincs. Same thing on my new 3JHE3. Checked out a Yanmar Forum (Marine Diesel Direct) and they said the same thing. Bill

Greg, Amere is correct. The HM35F does not have engine zincs. The reasion being is that the tubes in the heat exchanger are isolated from the case with rubber o rings and electrolysis is prevented. Somewhere in the past on the Yanmar Forum this was explined.
