That time of the year and all the projects and expenditures come to mind! Yeee Haaaaa. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had advise about the running rigging configuration, what lines come back to the cockpit, including the 2 lines from the inboom reefing system, which ones stay at the mast. My boat does not have a winch or cleat on the mast. I am thinking about adding this so I can keep the furling halyard up and out of the way along with one spare halyard. Also, I am changing all the blocks as everything is 20-years old. Any advice about harware...I was thinking about Garhauer Pictures would be great...I can read, but I am a visual learner! Thanks as always! Greg

My Boat

Hi Greg, You are welcome to take a look at my boat. I have lots of lines led to the cockpit. I'm not even sure what they all do (I haven't had time to sort them all out). I do know that the main halyard, main sheet, topping lift, and reefing lines are there. The jib halyard is also led aft, which isn't really necessary, but doesn't hurt. Stangely enough, the boom vang is not led aft. I plan on changing that, and I will probably move the jib halyard to the mast (where there are two unused winches). On my last boat I had an extra stopper for the spinnaker tack line. My new boat didn't come with a spinnaker, so I don't need that (yet). Barry
