Pearson 26 Cape Coral
Hi All,

I have a 74 Pearson 26 in Cape Coral Florida.
I'm looking for some partners to help be get it sailing again....

It's pretty much just a shell, it has all it's rigging but no sails.
The cabin is pretty riff but not terrible.

I don't want to get rid of it but I think it's to much for me to do on my own...

Also, any advice on how to replace a frayed main stay????

Thanks,

You need some kind of master plan with a budget as right now your not going to end up with a useable boat without spending a bunch of money

I and two partners are refurbishing a 1976 Ranger 33. So far we're in for about 15k.
The good thing about partners though... that's only 5k each.
It will be the nicest ranger 33 on the water when she finally splashes, I guarantee it.
She'll also have a for sale sign on it.

I have a S2 8.0B that we bought then we spend another 6K to refurbished it. Now we had to do it all from electrical, plumbing, cushions and a lot more. Yes we did all the work so that was for parts only. So a budget in needed.

i put my san juan 23 on a full refit last year, this included paint and shell work of the whole boat, all new electronics, all new plumbing including thru hull, toilet and sink, new stove, new interior, and a new backstay. Plus a new motor, the total in parts was over 14000$, and i did all the work wich came to about 350 hours.

now make sure it is the boat you want for a while because this will cost you and you will never get your money back. I know that i wantt to go bigger, and ill never get my money back as i am in excess of the value of my boat, someone will get and awfully nice boat when i decide to sell, but ill be out a few k. make sure you want to go ahead with this, and remember, it's a boat, you cant skimp on quality and workmanship, your life migth depend on your work...
