Hi All - I am almost done with my mast restoration project on my '78 Catalina 30. The job came out nice: Rewired the mast, painted the mast and boom w/ Imron, replaced standing rigging and moves my external halyards - internal. One thing I am noticing though before I close things up and get the mast back to the boat for stepping: the inside of the mast has a noticeable amount of oxidation that seems to be getting on my now internal halyards. Any ideas/solutions as to how I could keep my halyards clean? I am afraid that they are going to get coated with that grey-aluminum crud overtime. Thanks - Rob

Something wrong ... :)

If your halyards touch the inside of the mast, there is something wrong. The only time the halyards will touch the inside of the mast is when the mast is out of the boat.
