My husband and I purchased a 1994 Hunter Sailboat. There is no Owner's Manual with it. There are some things we would like to know about the boat, i.e. the hot water heater isn't working and we need more info on whether it needs to be replaced or if it just needs a new part. Any ideas where I could get a copy? Thank you. Barbara

We sold ours with the manual, but I'll help if I can. Do you have the breaker on? Remember the heater works on 110v shore power or exhaust heat from the engine. If its getting 110 volts through the panel and not heating it is most likely the element. Was it ever turn on without water? Although the element could be replaced it might be better to replace the unit. I noticed that you are in Racine, so does it have a bypass on the heater? If it does, the water is never going through the unit.

Remove the shelves to gain access. If there's rust everywhere, may be better to replace the entire unit. Around $100 and easy to do. If it looks okay, remove the element and get that replaced instead. Be sure to reattch the two hoses from the engine correctly.
