Overboard Head Discharge

Has anyone added overboard discharge capability for waste on a 376.
Any thoughts or pics would be appreciated as we are out to sea & would like the option.

Macerator Pump setup

Install a macerator pump and a 1" through hull valve. Splice into the 1 1/2" pump-out hose from the holding tank. Must add ball valves to close the macerator pump intake. See image provided.

My 1996 H376 came new with a two way valve in the head outlet pipe. One way to the holding tank and the other way directly to a 1½" skin fitting. The valve is in the cupboard under the heads wash basin. The through hull is there too.
The valve has a small hole in the operating lever so, if necessary, a small padlock can be used to lock it in the on board waste direction.

On the 40.5, the mascerator is directly connected to the pump out hose with a T fitting.
When you pump out, the mascerator impeller holds the suction pressure.
Similarly, when you use the mascerator, the deck fitting (with an O ring), holds the vaccum.
I think a valve is better, but this does work,

Valve is not necessary, as Art says... but when the pump plugs/jams one day, it is much easier to deal with the pump by closing the valve and not have the holding tank emptying into the bilge!

Will do but soonest this will be is week after next as am to hospital for very minor op next week. Hope to take photos of inside of handbasin cupboard and also the layout of the Jabsco toilet, though the latter will be hard to make head or tail of!
