I am curious to know how hard it is to install an outside shower head in the cockpit. The head of a catalina 30 just is not enough room to shower comfortably and i would like to install one in the cockpit. How would I hook it up so both hot and cold water could be used, and also where could i purchase such an item, thank you

I put one in my 88 30. It was not a hard project to once you get the parts and decide to start cutting the hole for the faucet. I placed mine on the back side of the "T" behind the wheel on the port side. The plumbing was easy to pick up by the water heater and I put ball valves on both so that I can shut that part of the system off for easier winterizing. I think you can find the faucet and box in a one piece unit in most any of the marine catalogs. It is a very worth while project and one you will say "why didn't I do that earlier?" Just make sure you check the measurements of the unit plus the flange before you start cutting. It is a tight fit but do able. Put some masking tape under the shoe of your saber saw before cutting to keep prevent scratching the fiberglass around the cut. Happy showers!
