The main on our C36 is a Doyle DuraSail with a StackPack. Overall, we really like this sail but find that outhaul adjustment is virtually non-existant. With the bolt rope and all the stiff fabric, we really struggle to flatten this sail...is there a way to do this? Or do we just reef early and try to flatten the reefed sail?

Stackpack outhaul adjustment

Colin, My experience with StackPack mains is that they are no harder to adjust than any other sails. The additional material should not hamper the foot of the sail from sliding in the boom track. It is possible that you don't have enough outhaul purchase in the boom. These sails are designed with relatively flat lower sections anyway. I would recommend tightening the foot at the dock(its easier if the sail is hoisted)and keeping it tight. The sail should perform well with the foot relatively tight, even in light conditions. Thanks, Bill C. Doyle Sails
