We are planning a trip to Mexico (trailering) this fall. I would like to create a kit for replacing all small parts(shackles, cotter pins, turnbuckles, etc.). Does anyone know where one can find out the complete specs for a 1980 25ft. Oday?

Since I bought my 25 last October I have been looking for any and all information on the Oday 25. I have never come across such a list and doub there is one available.
Even if there was, I would be careful counting on it since a lot can be changed in 25 years. Your best bet might be a call to Rudy at D&R Marine. He used to work at O'day and be able to help you out.
If I was going to trailer my boat a long way to no where, I would buy kits, such as a kit of various size cotter pins, a kit of various size clevis pins, etc. Maybe try to find someone who changed out their standing rigging and by the old rigging or just buy new yourself.
Shackles, blocks etc shouldn't be too old to identify or at least find a right sized replacement.
Again, Rudy can supply a large number of what you may decide you need.
For the trip I would tape everything that could possibly come loose so it does not vibrate out and stay north of the border.

Thanks for your welcome, and reply. When you say stay north of the border, do you mean north of the Mexican border, or Guatemala?
I am guessing any parts left on a highway the opposite side of any border from where you are will be a bad thing.
I believe that one of the hardest things to locate if lost will be the large pins for the mast tabernacle. (The plate the mast rotates on when raising and lowering.)

I have such a box on my boat that is filled with all kinds of rigging parts, sheaves, stainless steel shackles, nuts, bolts, wood screws, and etc. You name it and I have it.
I started buying some of these parts back in the 1980s. Some of the stuff is still in packages with Bliss Marine printed on them.
Then a few years ago, one of my friends gave me a box of parts that he had on his Mac 26 with all kinds of goodies in it.
A lot of this stuff can be purchased at marine consignment stores for cheap money. I've always managed to find spare parts of almost everything I had on board as far as running and standing rigging are concerned and keep them handy just in case I lost something overboard.
You really don't need to buy an extra pin for your hinged tabernacle in the event that you might lose one. A long stainless steel bolt with a lock nut will work just as well and it's cheaper. Some of these parts can be accumulated after a period of time. I've always had plenty of small stainless steel shackles on hand. I like the quick release shackles and I use them on my Mainsheet and boom vang.
There are no kits available for any specific boat that I know about. I would just make up my own.
