Clean up and save some 1/2 gallon milk/juice jugs. Fill them with water and freeze them. They will keep your cooler cold a lot longer than cubed ice, and when they melt you can drink them.

Some really good input, more than I expected for sure. Thanks guys. Sailing the local lakes convinced me I needed shade, so I have a poor man bimini a la stingy sailor. As far as taking what I take to go camping minus the tent, not really an option. Here was our site the last time we went camping...

Maybe we should have said kayak camping instead of tent camping. You only have 22 foot boat to fit all that stuff in LOL!

I pack the beer into the cooler, then pack the Girlfriend into the truck. She handles everything else prior to packing into said truck, and I don't trust her with the beer...

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
My boat is decked out for extended cruising. I have pressurized water, large house bank, flexible solar charger, and a lot of other features found on bigger boats.

An interesting thing that I often pack is my folding bike. On longer cruises it allows me to get to the grocery store and I have a way of carrying things back.

I pack my clothes in dry bags and I have storage for them under the seats in the cabin. I carry a full cooler and water bottles to drink from (my water tank on the boat is for cleaning dishes and showers).

Here is one must pack item that everyone has misses....RUM!

Of course, never RUM when you are moving. Always when you are sitting back, anchored in a beautiful place, and watching the sun go down.--End of Public Service Announcement--

I carry a short (for easy storage) fishing pole on-board which is, for me, the best evening relaxation one can get.... as well as a means to procure fresh food.

A must have: Caribana Sol Spiced Rum. A Barbados Virgin Rum with natural flavors. I care little for rum, but this stuff, well...
