outboard storage

About to take delivery of a 326 - is it possible to store a small outboard anywhere except on the railing? Maybe a 4 HP?

as long as it's a 2 stroke

i know that if it's a 4 stroke it has to be stored upright, a 2 stroke can be layed down. next time you run it though, leave it in neutral and cut off the gas and let the motor run out of the gas it stores in the carb. gas in the carb can build up and cause engine problems later.

Outboard

The 326 is not blessed with a convenient place to store an outboard. There is very little rail space, and the cockpit lockers are too small. My plan is to get a Walker Bay 10 with the sailing kit, and have oars as a back-up. By the way, some 4-strokes CAN be stored on their side, it just has to be the CORRECT side. I have a Mercury 5hp 4-stroke, and it has to be stored on one side only.
