I have a 4 horsepower 4 stroke outboard for my dinghy. When not on the dinghy, I have a motor mount on the side rail of the Hunter arch. My challenge is lifting the motor out of the dinghy and passing it to the person on the deck. Does anyone know a better way of doing this?

Boom

I don't remember how the H320 is set- up, but on our H31 I replaced the mainsheet shackle with a quick release type. Now I can release the boom from the traveler and use it and the mainsheet as a crain for lifting and lowering. Hope this helps, Bob

Outboard hoist

John...look up www.garhauer.com a great marine outfitter. I bought a great motor hoist fromthem mounted it on the starboard stern just outside the coaming behind the cleat. It makes outboard motor mounting a breeze, and was a great investment in peace of mind, safety, and convenience. My 5hp Nissan is 52lbs...hoist has a capacity of aroud 150lbs. I have mounted the motor single handed (in calm waters)but my (5'2")wife could lower the motor literally with one hand. The hoist got top grades in Practical Sailor 2 years ago. Good luck.
