Has anyone found a successful way to mount a dinghy outboard to the stern of the 290? I have a 2001 and haven't been able to find a way to work this.

Me too!

I hate it when someone writes in, without answering the question, but only to add "me too"; well, its my turn, me too. We're heading on a two week trip and I'd love to hear ideas that have worked. There's the Forespar Motor Mate and Nova Lift for getting the motor off the dinghy, but where to put it? Since space is minimal on the stern rail, I was thinking of a Garelick Horizontal Mount Motor Bracket attached to the swim platform (model 71078). I'll include a link to one site that sells it. Thoughts? Comments? You too? Paul

Here's what I did

Dana, I appologize for answering based on a different Hunter model. However, I think the concept is the same. I had a metal fabricator design a mount for the stern pulpit on our 410. The way Hunter designed the pulpit didn't include any 90 degree stainless intersections to bolt on an over-the-counter mount. Our mount fit nicely and gave the appearance that it was originally built for the boat. See what you think. John Richard s/v Jack's Place ~~~__/)~~~
