Hi all you C27 with outboards, After 2 years of promising I finally cut a notch in the rudder to allow the o/b to be trimmed all the way down without interference. This exercise was to make the boat motor flatter, without the lazerette flooding. Gues what, its doesn't help. Motoring at anything over 5kts results in the stern sqatting and the lazettte flooding and now with the motor tilted further down the water level is almost to the engine cover!!. So in my opinion it is not a good idea. It is just as effective to use the trim adjustment on the motor to clear the rudder. I have decided to design a slide similar to the now no longer produced Breeze Industries mount. I will post the outcome on this forum. Anyone interested in discussing this matter is welcome to contact me via the forum. tredw

Yes

The lower you trim the motor the lower the bow and the higher the stern will be when running.

question for Phil

Phil: You sound like you have some experience with outboards on the Cat 27. My Atomic 4 may be to expensive to fix. Do you have any suggestions regarding re-powering my boat? Thanks
