I have purchased a new auxillary outboard and remote control for my 25' sailboat but unsure exactly where to position the remote control. Its possible to lift the cockpit seat and put the remote inside the seat which adds security and removes from the elements but could be clumsy when operating under certain conditions. If along side and below the seat, yet outside, it might be in the way, but I would not need to open the seat to operate it. If anyone has thoughts or recommendations on location of the remote, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Mount'em on the rail or stanchion

I have seen a really nice home made console where the owner fabricated and mounted a very nice looking wooden "module" that the controls were incorporated into. He mounted it on one of the stanchions for the stern rail if I rememeber. If I come across the pic I'll post the link. It might have even be in the pics on this site. Did you get the electric start? That's the "remote control" the mates all want on my boat. Geof s/v Day-O
