What do you mean by service? Do you want the seller to attach it? Do you want some sort of warrenty? How thick is your transom? Otherwise stated, how old is your boat, or how new?

Same questions, however I want to point out again that the hp/weight recommendations for 2cycle and 4cycle motors are VERY different. For example a motor mount for a 20hp 2cycle motor can take about 5hp 4cycle. And, I think the recommendations are understated to begin with.

Yeah, I know about the 4 vs 2 stroke issues. That's why I need a new mount. The mount on my 1986 C27 was designed for a 2 stroke. The PO put a new Honda 9.9 4 stroke on there in 2000, and it's too much motor (thrust and weight) for the mount.Re customer service: I was trying to get some (I thought) basic questions answered ... like what is the mounting hole configuration, how much of the weight will be lifted by the springs. You'd think that particularly something like mounting hole dimensions would be readily available. Drilling new holes in your transom isn't something you want to do if you don't have to.Anyway, I finally got the info today from Garelick. Holes match up nicely so, for their somewhat slow customer service, they get to sell me $250 worth of product. Tom MonroeCarlyle Lake

Quality Motor mount

I recently purchased a outboard motor mount from Garhauer Marine. It is made of quality stainless steel. The spring is very strong, making lifting my 7.5 Merc very easy. The spring is strong enough to hold the engine in any position, locked in place or not. Price was reasonable too at $170.50.
