Hi Bryan

The combi is not a difficult bit of engineering once you see it in bits, it
is probably the most simple gearbox mechanism ever invented. Many people
hae been terrified until trying and then found out that there is really
nothing to be worried about. The most difficult part is taking the combi of
the engine and releasing the clamping rings. If you follow the instructions
suppled with the combi kit then you cant really go wrong. Dont be afraid, I
was but then discovered the method.. Combi Kit is available from the VAGB
at £38 with complette instructions and diagrams. The kit consists of all
parts to renovate the combi and sterngland.

Hi Brian

The COMBI KIT is only for the diesel version (MD6A or MD7A) not the petrol
one (Albin 021/022). I see by your Vega number that you probably have a
petrol one. Let me know? We can now accept VISA CARDS etc.

I too am thinking outboard if i cannot get Mr.Combi
to behave better. Question; My l977 av27 has two
wedge shaped pads glassed in, seen on the port side
when looking at the inside of the transom. They
appear to be about the right height above the water
for supporting an outboard bracket. Has anybody used
these for a bracket? Is that what they are for? If so,
what make of bracket will work with them ?...as
the spacing seems a little odd.
