i have an outboard motor bracket for a honda 5hp. it is stainless and has six torsion springs to assist lifting. unfortunely, 3 of the 6 springs are broken. none of the marina's know where to find replacements. unfortunely, i don't even know the manufacturer of the bracket as it is not marked. it may be a garelick. does anyone know where to find torsion springs? they are made of .155in stainless steel wire, 6 coils, about 1 5/8 outside dia, one straight arm two inches long, the other arm is at about 140 degrees and is 1.5 inches to a 45 degree bend, then another .5 in after the bend. i quess this allows the arm to sit on the bolt and not slip off.

i thought for sure joe would have an answer for me : )

i was hoping joe would have an answer for me : ) i have even contacted the manufacturer and they won't provide the torsion springs, nor the name of their supplier. they want me to take the bracket off and send it back to be refunished. they don't care how difficult it is to remove nor do i want to wait till sept for a repair. especially when the springs are easily replaceable. i smell a lawyer involved with this stupid policy somewhere.
