Does anyone have any experience with powering your Newport 27 with an Outboard engine? I am trying to decide whether to replace my old and unrepairable Atomic 4 inboard with either a new or rebuilt inboard versus using an outboard.
Dan, Thanks for your reply. Since my original posting I borrowed a Tohatsu 9.8hp 4-stroke which ran great, and powered the boat to around 6knots. With the outboard engine tiller steering seems much easier and I feel like I have more control of the boat. I now plan to purchase my own outboard engine. Gary.
