How have people routed the wires from the outboard with electric start to the Battery below in my 23.5? I have been unsuccessfull in finding a waterproof connector with enough current carrying capacity that I could install through the cockpit to the battery below. The connector should be a locking type. The motor is a 9.8 Nissan xtra long shaft. Temporarily I have relocated the battery to the Port cockpit locker.

H 22

On my H22 i have a Mariner elctric start. A small hole was drilled in the transom. The wires go through and onto a plate which then goes to the battery. The hole is the siliconed around the wires and and a small stainless clam shell vent is placed over it. Never had a bit of water. Will forward a photo if needed.

Mine...

I have a Honda 9.9 electric start. It's 10 years old. I bought the boat 3 years ago. I couldn't find a picture, but mine has two bolts with wingnuts sticking out of the coaming wall (one above the other) between the cockpit seat and the outboard. This is in the square-ish well forward of the transom motor mount. Can you picture that? There are just L-shaped rubber caps on the ends of the cables that come from the outboard. Not exactly water-tight when it's all connected. ...RickM...

Ron, can you forward a picture to this thread of your application. I have a similar need and would benefit.

electric trolling motor plug

Available at any marine supply or even some Wal-marts. On my H26 I have mine connected on the side wall of the fuel storage area directly over the battery. I have an extra female end that I can use with a battery charger to recharge my battery. There isn't that much amperage going either direction with our small starters and alternators.

Maintenance?

How do you easily remove the motor for winter storage or maintenance?
