out of curiousity- how many others on here used to be on the Woodenboat forum?

I'm still on the WoodenBoat forum, Charlie. But I haven't visited much in the last few years. In fact I just went in and see I had a PM from Feb. 2019.

There is a Wooden Boat Forum Facebook group that I belong to as well. I visit that often for the boats and projects (they come in my feed). The FB group is not affiliated with the old forum but they direct you to it and the magazine. The group has 30K members and has been around for about 10 years.

I notice the original forum has 50K members that have signed up over 21 years. That doesn't tell you much about traffic. The software kinda looks antique. Nostalgia or lack of participation?

There are always interesting projects going on in there but I haven't followed one lately. Has it changed? Remarkably, it still has the bilge with no apparent problems.

Can't say about changed. I haven't been there but once in years. I stopped when that one jackass insisted I was dumb (and i was building wooden boats professionally) SBO took a lot of the members when the forum changed format

Remember when I used to get reminded to take my trash can out on Weds? :) :)

Things are moving fast in the wooden boat world as wood composite is on the cutting edge of design.

This is a project post from a boatbuilder in the Netherlands that was posted today. Language translators are making this an interesting time.

I very much like wood/epoxy composite construction... Been a fan for many decades. Started working in it in the 1980's.

Didn’t know there was a wooden boat forum. I’ll check it out. I do like it projects you have posted, particularly the new cockpit Tom. Don’t you have anything else going on?

Not much, boat wise (I am still working), until spring. Come to think of it, the boat then turns 60 so it'll get a bit of maintenance that was deferred last season.

Thanks on the cockpit. That was a memorable project that keeps supplying dividends during the season. The cockpit is so much a piece of the boat now I forget the day I drove it down to the harbor in the back of my PU, nearly 5 years ago.

I always find mistakes in my own work. Those I made on this project are minimal, I'm happy to say, so the new cockpit has performed better than I had hoped.

I had a sign-in & password, but finding it might be a real detective story.679C7037-59C5-402A-9CE7-07E481DC7391.jpeg83CC6591-67CF-49FC-B309-F7D93080E156.jpeg80DF20D8-F75D-4122-AE14-93F1E1FA9F09.jpegE3676D21-1BB4-4283-9DDF-ED3A43035A5D.jpegC8DC1A29-A5E8-49AB-9C02-41CBC82E50B9.jpeg1684344D-23EF-49BA-A742-04431D210C31.jpeg66CE1D9D-7E57-46F3-BEFF-8CC2E666B55E.jpeg.
