Out board motor- what will fit?

I have a catalina 27 (1975) with an 2-stroke Evenrude 9.9 year approx. 1980 that I need to replace. The problem I'm having is finding a outboard motor that will fit in the well. I've looked at a Honda 9 but according to the specs I don't believe it will fit. Any suggestions.

Not sure about new motors

My 1994 Honda 8Hp fits and tilts up with only a minor trimming on the lip of the Lazerette hatch cover. However a year ago they redesigned the motor with a larger rounder case so I don't know if it will still fit.
