Hello Ed, The video was taken as we sailed through the Southern Ocean on my way up to Cape Horn last year. As you may know I skippered the 85' Maxi Alye Parusa from my home town of Albany (Western Australia) to Falmouth in the UK via Cape Horn the Falklands, Antigua, Horta (Azores).
That morning I was off watch sleeping in my bunk when there was an urgent call for me to come on deck. Earlier that morning I had the berg on my radar about 18nm ahead and as I went off watch I advised my watch captain to be very carefull as we were going to sail very close to it "if" we remained on the Port tack. We needed to tack well before! You have to look very hard but I guess we were within fifty meters of the berg when I swung to Starboard tack.
I have only just worked out how to open a YouTube account, thanks to my son, and so up-loaded the video at the weekend.
So yes an old video but of interest I guess to a few.
