Unenforcable

Nice & Easy's comments lead us to the truth of the matter. If this bill passes (and I'd bet that it won't pass, anyway) the resulting law will be just like most of the BS that comes through legislature: completely unenforcable. It won't matter a bit. In an emergency, people don't care about law, and law enforcement is too busy with life and death to appease Senator XYZ, who is mad about a boat on his property. Law enforcement is already stretched thin in most areas, new laws just take their attention away from existing laws that they are already struggling to enforce. Having said all that, I must refer to what Ross said: Big difference between introducing a bill and getting it passed. I don't envision this one passing.

Harvey....

It will be a sad day if the legisture and the snooty property owners along the river get their way.....since Senator Brooks lives on Dog River himself this all seems a conflict of interest.....if it passes it will hurt larger boat sells in the Mobile area....Turner Marine and other dealers should join in the fight against this. Ashamed to be from Alabama

I guess you can say that, but my response has to be this. BE PROUD THAT YOU ARE NOT FROM LOUISIANA. Our politicians are just as stupid as those in any other state, but we have a big advantage in corruption. No one matches us in that dept.

Just because California is a wealthier state...

..does not make our politicians any smarter. It use to be said that when the people of Oklahoma moved to California during the depression...the IQ of both states went up. abe
