our duplex receptacles went on vacation

We came back from Christmas vacation to a cold Catalina 270. We plugged in our small ceramic heater to warm up the cabin and found the 115 VAC outlet didn't work. In fact, it seemed all the 115 VAC receptacles were still on vacation and none had any power. We checked the shore power connection, the shore breaker, the main AC breaker on the circuit panel and the 15 amp outlet breaker button. The green main AC light is on and all breakers appear normal. Then we checked to see if the battery charger was responding when we turned on the main AC breaker, and it did. It seems shore power is getting on the boat, but the outlets are not getting any juice. Could the 15 amp breaker button be bad? Is this a common part I can get at a marine store? I checked the circuit diagram and it looks like the galley receptacle is a ground fault interupt. I didn't see if this was popped. Could this be the problem? Because according to the diagram, it looks like all the other outlets would be protected by the GFI. Tomorrow I'm attempting to open the circuit panel and investigate, but would appreciate anyone's advice on this thing. Thanks!

GFI

Andy, Your problem is most certainly caused by the GFI plug and does indeed protect the rest of the outlets. Try reseting the GFI outlet. Rodney Sashay, C-42 #567

Yup

Yup, you were right. I reset the GFI and all is good. I guess it was a simple lesson that new boat owners must learn for themselves. Thanks! Andy
