So, I took delivery of my CP-22 almost a month ago, but due to work obligations, today was my first sail (save for the test sail). It was a double-handed race - first go round for both of us - winds ranged from 6 to 17 knots (and everywhere in-between) and very shifty, with a lot of chop. We raced JAM. We took third
Out of 3 boats :x Our competition were bigger boats, that owed us a lot of time, and could handle the difficult conditions better than we did. Learned a lot
Mostly that my mainsail is crap
Two more races tomorrow. Hopefully we can apply what we learned today. Not terribly disappointed, but would have liked to have done better. And, it can't get worse (I hope!).
