Osprey Crap on the Bimini............

Just got a new dock behind a houise here in Apollo Beach,Florida, which, by the way has as many Ospreys as it does humans.

So now I have white Osprey stuff all over the Bimini.

I know how to keep the Ospreys off the spreaders and am installing wire,etc so they cant land.
But the issue is how to get the white stuff off the blue Bimini ?????

If you have bee there and done that, talk to me, please !!!!

Yeah, i know how that is..... mild soap and water.... but the fish guts are more of a mess in my view.... they can just make one hell of a smelly mess especially if your gone for a day or two....

We use a pig stick with a flag to keep them off the mast head. MILD dish soap and water and scrub brush can work. Sometimes you have to take the Bimini off and lay it out on the ground. Once it's clean coat it with a waterproofing spray to ease future problems. We use Scotchguard outdoor.

Yes, they have a habit of standing on the masthead while simultaneously eating and crapping. They are responsible for stains on the deck, bimini and some broken mast head instruments. Unfortunately this is a case of making it harder for them to stand on your boat than on your neighbors boats. As far as cleaning the bimini I would advise to clean it once and then put a heavy coat of Scotch Guard on it to make it easier to hose off future droppings. Once you get some protection on the canvas the sun and rain will eventually wash them stains out by themselves.
